A Heart Not Easily Broken First Book Review....5 STARS!!!

Happy Sunday!

No, there are no more Six Sunday posts...well, not until the time draws near for the release of the second book in the Butterfly Memoirs series...Jaded, but I do have some happy news to share!

A Heart Not Easily Broken was released this past Thursday via 5 Prince Publishing, and broke into the AMAZON BESTSELLER LIST! And if that wasn't enough to get my heart racing, it's still there....4 days later! Thank you so much to everyone who has expressed interest in my writing! As a debut author, I couldn't have asked for a greater start to my professional writing career than this!

The first book review came in this morning, talk about a great start to my day! It can be found on Goodreads, Amazon, and Librarythings. It's a long, well-thought out review. Here's a snippet:

#Six Sentence Sunday #20- A Heart Not Easily Broken

Welcome back!

Last week, Brian asked Ebony to spend time with him in the VIP area of the club. He wants to get to know her, but it's too soon to ask her to leave the building with him. The next best thing is to have her move away from the speakers and attempt to have a decent conversation. But really, how easy is it to do  with music pounding in your ears and yelling at one another?

Ebony takes a look at the area designated for band members only and guarded by a menacing man in black. Brian is needed on stage for the band's second performance of the night. He doesn't wait for her reply. Instead, he toasts her with his beer bottle, gulps down the liquid, and disappears into the crowd. Ebony's eyes are on him when her friends, Yasmine and Kaitlyn, (forgot about them, huh?), reappear. Both woman question her about the blond headed hottie. Ebony smirks, under the assumption she's been set up by her friends. They tell her no, they have no clue who he is. She tells them about the VIP invite. Let's pick up from there:

Two sets of eyebrows rose.

“So, are you going?” Yasmine studied me, no doubt wondering if tonight’s mission had been a success.

I stared at the stage as the music began to play, watching Brian in action. He looked in my direction and smiled.

“I haven’t decided yet.”

We've reached the end of chapter 1....Did I just hear some gasps and 'ah man!'s???? LOL, I hope so! And as promised, I have a few surprises!

I have exciting news to share!

#Six Sentence Sunday #18- A Heart Not Easily Broken

Welcome back!

So, Brian has just told Ebony, in so many words, he's not interested in talking to anyone but her. Ebony's response is to laugh and admit that despite all the men who shown her attention since being at the club did it from a distance. Not Brian. After spying her from the stage, he boldly walks over, buys her a drink, and is not thrown off his game by the way she responds.

Let's pick up from there. Brian continues:

           “I want to get to know you. We could−” Annoyance flashed on his face when he acknowledged the hand on his shoulder.

I scoffed, nearly spitting out my drink. The drummer, the object of my suggestive dancing−and oh, my God, that body−stood next to Brian. He didn’t give me the time of day. 

Guess the jokes on her! So, where does she go from here? Will she continue to give Brian a hard time, despite his determination to get to know her? After all, he's the first to admit meeting at a bar where the lights are low and the music loud and distracting is not the best place to meet someone and have an intelligible conversation. Or, should she go for the drummer who was the reason why she'd gone to the stage in the first place?
