#Six Sentence Sunday #18- A Heart Not Easily Broken

Welcome back!

So, Brian has just told Ebony, in so many words, he's not interested in talking to anyone but her. Ebony's response is to laugh and admit that despite all the men who shown her attention since being at the club did it from a distance. Not Brian. After spying her from the stage, he boldly walks over, buys her a drink, and is not thrown off his game by the way she responds.

Let's pick up from there. Brian continues:

“I want to get to know you. We could−” Annoyance flashed on his face when he acknowledged the hand on his shoulder.
I scoffed, nearly spitting out my drink. The drummer, the object of my suggestive dancing−and oh, my God, that body−stood next to Brian. He didn’t give me the time of day.

Guess the jokes on her! So, where does she go from here? Will she continue to give Brian a hard time, despite his determination to get to know her? After all, he's the first to admit meeting at a bar where the lights are low and the music loud and distracting is not the best place to meet someone and have an intelligible conversation. Or, should she go for the drummer who was the reason why she'd gone to the stage in the first place?

Any thoughts? What do you think will happen next? Come back next week!

#Six Sentence Sunday #13- A Heart Not Easily Broken

Welcome back!

Last week, we got Ebony’s first impression of the guitar player up close and personal as he invaded her personal space.

Now what?

The guitar player pays for her drink before ordering his own. Ebony, a strong willed, independent woman, questions his gesture.  Unfazed by her reaction, he consumes his drink. Despite his good looks, Ebony considers passing the drink he paid for to the woman sitting beside her. However, sanity kicks in and she decides to keep her money in her pocket. That doesn’t keep her from assuming he expects payment for his chivalry. She puts him in his place making sure he is fully aware a free drink will not land her in his bed. To her surprise, he laughs. Her attention diverts to the locating her missing friends. Let’s pick up from there:

I turned back around in time to catch blue eyes exploring the length of my body.
“That was not my intention,” his eyes now focused above the deep cleavage of my dress. “Since we’ve gotten that out of the way, maybe you’ll answer this question.”
 “What?”
 “What’s your name? I’m Brian.”

Finally, the man has a name!

So, where is our heroine now? Caught between a free drink, the barstool brunette who’s expressed her intentions of sleeping with the guitar player on one side, and a hot guy who’s obviously got something on his mind on the other. What’s a girl to do?

Come back next week to find out!
