#Six Sentence Sunday #16 - A Heart Not Easily Broken

Welcome Back!

Last week left Brian studying the Ebony's hand as she wiggles her fingers in front of his face. He glances at it and sees no ring. He asks if she's married or in a relationship. Clearly he's undeterred. Ebony realizes he did not get her point. Her intention was not to show off a wedding band, but to to establish the difference in race. She asks why the color of her skin doesn't bother him. He says it doesn't, but ask if its a problem for her. Not what she expected.

Ebony takes a moment to reassess him. Brian's blue gaze stays on her, never wavering. His skin is tanned, he's taller than she is, and has broad shoulders and a narrow waist. Before she realizes it, she's imagining him naked.

Unnerved she says:

“You’re not my type, and I’m not yours.” I put my cup to my lips and gulped, forgetting about the extra shot of tequila, I nearly choked.
Brian angled his head, apparently musing over my statement. “You have no idea what my type is.”
“What about her?” I nodded at the brunette who sat behind me.

Boy, she's really giving this brunette props! What do you guys think? Should Brian move on to the brunette who's ready to jump him, or put the work in with Ebony to get what he wants?

Come back next Sunday to find out what happens next!

#Six Sentence Sunday #12 – A Heart Not Easily Broken

First impressions can make or break a person’s perception of you, especially when they’re up close and personal.

Ebony is now faced with the guitar player who zeroed in on her as she danced. Now, he’s appeared at the bar and offered to pay for her drink. What is her impression now that he’s breached her personal space?

He was tall, probably a good six-two to my five-foot-five. His build reminded me of a basketball player, a well-built basketball player. The low lights of the club reflected off damp blond hair with dark undertones. His confident smile cocked to the side, revealing pearly white teeth. The blue shirt he wore complimented the color of his eyes, sparkling like waves of the ocean while hinting at mischief. Baggy shorts and a pair of clean black Converse completed his attire.

Raise your hands if you can envision a man that looks this good! Can you feel his physical presence towering over you, seducing you, drawing you in? What does Ebony feel? Come back next week to find out!

#Six Sentence Sunday #11- A Heart Not Easily Broken

Okay, not time to waste! The part you’ve been waiting for has finally arrived!

Last week, Ebony found herself in the sights of the bands guitar player, a white man, a good looking white man. Unsure how to respond to his obvious attention, Ebony leaves the dance floor and returns to the bar in hopes of finding her friends. To her surprise, they’ve disappeared. She decides to grab a drink . As she waits, she listens to the woman next to her scheming to convince the very same guitar player who'd been ogling her to take her home at the end of the night. Ebony laughs to herself thinking the brunette has a better chance of finding a man than she has. And then her drink arrives.

“I’ve got this,” a deep voice said close to my ear, making me jump. It was incredibly sexy despite the fact it scared me. It also sent a warm tingle down my spine. Intrigued, I turned and found myself face-to-face with the guitar player. The same one my barstool neighbor wanted to go home with.
Any sort of coherent words failed me.

All who could feel the tingle Ebony felt, raise your hands! (Mine is waving!!!!!)

So, who do you think was more surprised by the guitar player’s appearance at the bar? Ebony, or the lady sitting next to her who wants to take him home?

Dying to know exactly what this man looks like? Come back next week and you'll get an eye full!
