#Six Sentence Sunday #15 - A Heart Not Easily Broken

Last Sunday Ebony shook Brian's hand...an innocent gesture, right?

The contact of his large hands - calloused, but clean - sent ripples that threw her for a loop. Add the sexy way her name rolled of his tongue and what do you get? Instant attraction. The feeling is mutual. He continues to hold her hand, even after she turns away. As she gathers her senses, his warm breath finds its way beside her ear again when he leans over, determined to stop yelling over the speakers blasting music around them. The conversation is between the two of them, not the nosy brunette on the other side.

Ebony inhales the smell of his cologne, feels the warmth of his body next to hers...and then she glances his way and is reminded he's white.

Her response: "You're kidding, right?"

How does Brian respond? Let's find out...

Why would I be joking?” He took another swig of beer, his gaze steady on mine.
I laughed lightly while raising my hand to break his line of sight, wiggling my fingers.
He studied it briefly. “I don’t see a ring. Are you married or in a relationship?”

Way to go, Brian! This man is seriously determined to get what he wants...her. Where will it go from here? You know the drill! See you next Sunday!

  1. Way to go Brian is right! Where some people see racial differences, he only sees beauty and looks at what is really important--is she wearing a ring. Love a tenacious man who goes after he wants.

Hope Ebony can open her eyes before the girl beside her tries to steal him away.

  2. I like him, he's smart (as well as hot), so I hope Ebony can convince herself to take the chance. Another excellent excerpt!
