A Heart Not Easily Broken - Brian's POV #2

Welcome back for a sneak peek into the second chapter of A Heart Not Easily Broken, Book 1 of The Butterfly Memoirs!

Chapter 2 is an introduction to the male lead of the story, Brian Young, the sexy bass guitarist in the band, Diverse Nation.  If you missed last week's post, no problem, click the link or read the full first chapter

Ebony walks toward the the truck, her mind set on the contents inside her large bag. She realizes she may not have enough cash to pay him. Their eyes meet, stopping her dead in her tracks, surprise written all over her face. Brian has already recovered and a million thoughts race through his mind. Ebony, on the other hand, is obviously uncomfortable.

Maybe guilt for not meeting me in VIP?

“I’m here to cut your grass.” I screwed the top back on the gas can, fighting the urge to laugh at the irony of the situation.

Play it cool. I was not about to let her know how disappointed I’d been sitting alone. What happened a few nights ago had nothing to do with the money she was about to put in my pocket.

Now you know, she didn't stick around after all. Where will they go from here? Well, this is a novel so it's obvious they get somewhere....the question is how. And isn't that the fun part?

See you next week!

  1. It *is* the fun part, and how cool that he gets a second chance to prove to her that the color of her skin means nothing. Can't wait to see her reaction at him mowing her lawn...that should be fun. ;)
